EU GREEN Public Talk: "More reality than appearance? How diverse are universities really?"
"More reality than appearance? How diverse are universities really?"
National and international universities like to claim that they are cosmopolitan and diverse. But to what extent is this true and where do universities, their staff and students reach their limits? Have all possibilities really been exhausted to enable underrepresented groups to participate adequately in studies, teaching or administration? Are there also diversity-promoting strategies that have the opposite effect? We invite you to discuss these and other questions with experts. The discussion partners are Katharina Maria Pongratz, educational scientist at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg in the context of inclusion and adult education, Gabriel Rücker, BA Social Sciences student and spokesperson for the OVGUpride university group at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg, the founder and director of the Institute for Diversity Competence (IDC) Dr. phil. Chripa Schneller and Prof. Dr. Karla Melinda Barth from the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences, University of Oradea (Romania). The event will be moderated by Prof. Dr. Katja Michalak, University of Applied Sciences Zittau/Görlitz and IKOE project manager AGSA e.V..
The interested public is cordially invited to attend. The event will take place in English.
