Objectives

The aim of the study programme is to acquire a broad but at the same time detailed and critical understanding of the specialist knowledge and the ability to work independently according to scientific methods, to familiarise oneself independently with the diverse tasks of the fields of activity related to application, research or teaching, and to be able to cope with the frequently changing tasks that arise in professional life. The Master's programme complements the preceding Bachelor's programme in terms of content and goes far beyond it in terms of quality. Students acquire the ability to critically question opinions in their field of study, to solve upcoming problems in a scientifically structured manner, taking into account related disciplines, and to present their solutions to colleagues and laypersons or to impart their knowledge. They are able to creatively develop their area of expertise beyond the current state of the art and to acquire new knowledge themselves. The graduates are able to make scientifically sound decisions, considering social and ethical findings. They are able to assume responsibility within a team. In particular, the holistic view of technical-organizational and business management contexts emphasizes the Master of Industrial Engineering and Logistics.

Majors

  • Logistics plannung and virtual reality (VR),

They organize flows of goods and information, partnerships between logistics service providers and their customers worldwide or develop material flow technology products. They solve complex problems together with experts in computer science, production and automation technology, material flow and transport technology as well as social and labour scientists. Logistics offers a versatile and worldwide field of application with good career opportunities and secure future prospects in leading and independent positions at logistics service providers, in manufacturing and trading companies, on construction sites or in conurbations and cities. On the other hand, it is also possible to work in scientifically oriented research via the practice-oriented development engineer to work in science and education in the public sector and in research institutions.

Competencies and Interests Required

Good knowledge of mathematics and interest in computer science and technology, good communication and organisational skills, interest in thinking in systems, structures and control loops, in complex problem solving, in working in interdisciplinary teams and in taking on management tasks.
