Der Schwerpunkt der Arbeitsgruppe liegt auf effizienten Algorithmen für die Optimierung, insbesondere für Probleme mit kontinuierlichen und diskreten Entscheidungen und unterliegenden Differentialgleichungsmodellen. Wir entwickeln auch eigene Softwarepakete zur Lösung, beispielsweise den QP Löser qpDUNES für die Optimierung in Echtzeit.

Wir glauben an das Potenzial der multi-disziplinären Zusammenarbeit zwischen Partnern mit komplementärer Kompetenz und schätzen den doppelten Nutzen: neuartige, innovative Ansätze und Erkenntnisse in der Anwendung der Optimierung und ein erforderlicher Feedback-Effekt, der die Entwicklung neuer Methoden in der angewandten Mathematik voranbringt.
