Profil

Prof. Al-Hamadi holds the department of Neuro-Information Technology at the Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg. His work focuses on the interface between technical signal processing and human interaction to develop intelligent systems for the industry and medicine of the future.

Information Technology
  • Data acquisition: Capture of sensor data, machine status, environmental variables, and user inputs and vital parameter in real time.
  • Image Processing & Analysis: Specialist in Computer Vision, Pattern Recognition, and precise 3D measurement of technical and biological surfaces.
  • AI & Machine Learning: Deep expertise in the development of algorithms for Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence.
  • Sensors & Data Fusion: Advanced sensor data processing and the fusion of complex information for precise environment and situation modeling.

Human-Machine Interaction (HMI)
A central research focus is enabling machines to interpret human behavior in real-time:
  • Recognition: Specialized systems for gesture, facial expression, and handwriting recognition.
  • Context analysis: Consideration of user state, experience, and environment for adaptive adjustment.
  • Analysis: Automated action and event detection, Situation analysis as well as highly complex emotion and intention recognition.

Robotics & Assistance Systems
Prof. Al-Hamadi translates theoretical insights directly into practical applications:
  • Cognitive Robotics: Multisensorial environmental perception, autonomous learning through imitation/reinforcement, and AI-supported task planning for adaptive robotics.
  • Human-Robot Interaction: Focus on Productive Teaming, where humans and robots collaborate efficiently as a team.
  • Mobile Robotics: Development of intelligent mobile and stationary robotic systems.
  • Fields of Application: Design of intelligent assistance systems for industrial use (Industry 4.0 and 5.0) and medical contexts (e.g., Diagnostics by Appearance).
