In order to assess the current incidence of infections in Magdeburg and the resulting measures for Magdeburg University, the tier plan has been updated and reduced to three tiers. Please also refer to the hygiene concept that the Rectorate has adopted and which was updated on 11 October 2021. Our hygiene concept and the measures follow the specifications of the federal government and the state of Saxony-Anhalt as well as the recommendations of the Robert Koch Institute.

The 2021/22 winter semester at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg will be conducted as an attendance semester. This was agreed by the state's universities together with the Ministry of Economics, Science and Digitalisation. The 3G principle applies to courses on campus. More information will follow in the coming weeks.
In the summer semester 2021, examinations will be possible both in presence and digitally. Despite the currently very low incidence figures, for reasons of infection control, face-to-face examinations will continue to be held this semester only under special security precautions. The decreasing incidences and the positive trend of the overall pandemic situation allow us to set stage 2 of the University of Magdeburg's stage plan with immediate effect. Further information on the upcoming examinations will follow soon.
