Short-term blended mobility

The short-term blended mobility option represents a specific configuration of short-term mobilities aimed at addressing whichever reasons one may have not to participate in an Erasmus+ long term-exchange programme. As such, it is combined by a virtual mobility period plus a physical mobility which needs to last between 5 and 30 days. This specific short-term mobility option may be particularly suitable for those being in their third cycle of studies, i.e. pursuing a PhD

Current offers

Due to limited funds, only short term blended mobilities offered directly through us can be funded.

Short term blended mobilities from our partner universities which we do not publish here cannot be funded by us. However, in some cases it is possible that we will still nominate you for a place and nominate you via zero grant funding (the place itself represents the funding, there is no financial support) at the partner institution in order to increase your chance of participation.

Short term blended mobilities from universities with which we do not have an Erasmus partnership cannot be funded or supported by us in any way.

Requirements and application

The conditions for short term blended mobilities may vary. Please refer to the specific pages of the short term blended mobilities themselves for information on the requirements in regard of your field of studies, study level, language skills and time availability.

If you would like to apply for one of our promoted short term blended mobilities, we strongly recommend that you first contact the responsible person at the OVGU International Office (see Contact) for advice.  Depending on the number of requests, a selection procedure may be carried out in which your grades, the suitability of your degree programme to the topic of the short term blended mobility, your motivation and your language skills are taken into account. In addition, preference will be given to students who have never taken part in a short term blended mobility before in order to make this opportunity available to as many different students as possible. If you are ultimately unable to obtain funding by us, it is often still possible to be nominated for a short term blended mobility with a so-called zero grant (no payment of money, the grant only guarantees free participation in the programme).

Irrespective of this, some short term blended mobilities require a separate application/registration for the programme itself. Therefore, please always inform yourself thoroughly via us and the programme description in advance to avoid incomplete applications or missed deadlines.

Procedure

All short term blended mobilities consist of a virtual component and a short on-site stay of between 5 - 30 days. The exact duration and sequence varies, so always check the specific short term blended mobility and make sure that you will be able to attend fully at both phases. The two phases build on each other and are therefore compulsory, it is not sufficient to participate only online / on site. 3 ECTS or more can be earned for each short term blended mobility; please inform yourself in advance at your academic advisor about the recognition procedure. It is the responsibility of the host university to determine the tasks to be completed in order to obtain the credits and about the passing of that task. Even in the case of funding, we assume no liability for the execution and content of the programme or for the obtaining or recognition of the ECTS.
