For social togetherness and community spirit

From June 10 to 17, 2025, the Eco-Social University Days will take place under the motto “Together Festival”. The focus will be on social interaction and community in Magdeburg. A variety of food, music and events, hands-on activities and art and craft stalls are planned.

Artificial intelligence you can touch and participate in

The Felicia Festival of Artificial Intelligence and Acoustics will also take place for the first time as a summer edition in the Klosterbergegarten, the Gruson Greenhouses and the Gesellschaftshaus from June 13 to 15, 2025. Events include a night concert and open-air projections at the Gesellschaftshaus, a scenic reading, an audio walk through the park, electronic music floors, experimental stations, an AI listening lounge, workshops and multimedia concerts as well as a closing party.

“Emerging stronger from this challenging process”

The German Research Foundation has announced which Clusters of Excellence will be funded from 2026. Unfortunately, the SmartProSys application from our university is not one of them. Visit from Minister
Dr. Lydia Hüskens, the Minister responsible for Infrastructure and Digital Affairs in the state of Saxony-Anhalt, visited the Faculty of Business and Economics. She discussed key issues of future state development with interested faculty members.

Climate-friendly district heating for the campus
OVGU is taking an important step towards climate neutrality and sustainability. From January 1, 2026, the campus at Universitätsplatz will be supplied with climate-friendly district heating by SWM Magdeburg. A contract has now been signed for this. The university will thus save 91 percent of its previous emissions.

The new “It starts here” campaign aims to inspire young people to study in Magdeburg. A new chapter full of ideas, dreams and careers begins here - in a city with optimal study conditions and a wide range of offers. The message is to be spread across all channels - from posters to social media.

New rules for bicycle parking

OVGU is promoting emission-free transportation on campus by expanding the bicycle infrastructure. New regulations ensure more order and free parking spaces - also for e-bikes, scooters & co. Find out more now and help make cycling even more attractive!
