Hauptarbeitsgebiet von Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Arndt Lüder ist die Anwendung innovativer Technologien auf dem Gebiet der Fabrikautomation. Dabei betrachtet er objekt-orientierte und agenten-orientierte Architektur- und Implementierungskonzepte, mechatronische Konzepte, Engineeringvorgehensweisen, -methodiken und -technologien, die auf diesen aufsetzen, sowie Ethernet basierten Kommunikationssystemen. Neben diesen Forschungsarbeiten ist er in die Arbeit der GMA, des AutomationML e.V., der DKE und der IEC mit dem Zeil der Standardisierung von Vorgehen und Technologien im Engineering von Automatisierungssystemen involviert.

Arndt Lüder is on the application of innovative technologies in the area of factory automation such as object-oriented and agent-based architecture and implementation concepts, mechatronical concepts, Engineering methodologies, processes and technologies based on them, as well as Ethernet-based communication protocols. Beside that, he is involved in GMA, AutomationML association, DKE and IEC with the aim to standardise Metods and technologies within the field of automation system engineering.
