We congratulate you on your admission and look forward to welcoming you, your family and friends on October 6, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. to the official enrolment ceremony at the Magdeburg Opera House. This special day marks the official start of your studies and offers the opportunity to experience the university and its community for the first time in a festive setting.

The enrolment ceremony is not only a ceremonial start, but also a moment of arrival: get to know your fellow students, experience the diversity of student life and feel what it means to be part of a vibrant and future-oriented university.

What to expect at the enrolment ceremony

The ceremony will take place in the Magdeburg Opera House - centrally located between the main campus and the Zschokkestraße campus. The university management will welcome you in a special atmosphere together with representatives of the city and the student body. In addition to inspiring words, you can expect artistic contributions such as a poetry slam and exciting insights into student life at OVGU and in Magdeburg.

After the program, you will have the opportunity to look around the campus, gather initial information or make new contacts over coffee and conversation.

Places in the Magdeburg Opera House are limited. As an alternative, we offer you, friends and families a visit to Lecture Hall 1 on the university campus.
