Film screening "A City for All"/ Cosmopolitan Magdeburg
Dear interested parties,
On Thursday, 26 January 2023 at 7:00 pm, the Office for Gender Equality will be hosting a screening of the film "The Divine Order" in Lecture Hall 2 in Building 22 on the campus of Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg as part of the initiative "A City for All"/ Weltoffenes Magdeburg.
What is the film about?
The film drama (in German cinemas in August 2017) is about the Swiss housewife Nora, who lives a quiet life in the village with her husband Hans and their two sons. The social change that has been sweeping through the country since May 1968 has so far passed her by. But suddenly she discovers her political interest and begins to campaign for women's suffrage. This is not welcomed everywhere in the village and she needs the support of the men, of all people, in whose hands the decision ultimately lies.
The action week kicks off on 16.01.2023 from 18:00 to 19:00 with the singing of peace songs together with several Magdeburg choirs on the Old Market Square, accompanied by hundreds of lights.
