EUREKA/Eurostars-Programme

The EU funds joint research projects between SMEs and research institutions in the partner countries of Eurostars. There are no pre-specified subject areas. The funding is conditional on partners from two different countries participating in the project. The SMEs should each undertake 50% of the research work. The project should be coordinated by an SME. The research undertaken in universities may be funded to 100%. The level of funding for SMEs is country-specific and in Germany amounts to up to 50%. A requirement for projects where a German partner is participating is that an SME must also be involved.
