Here you can find an overview of the program of the information week from May 06 - 08, 2024. The offer is aimed at employees and students of the University of Magdeburg. The offers take place digitally or in presence.

On our social media channels, students and employees will learn more about the various possibilities of a stay abroad every day during the information week. In addition, international dishes will be offered in the Mensa Uni Campus from May 06 - 08, 2024 under the title "Go abroad".

5 p.m. - 6 p.m. / Vernissage of the photo exhibition "This is how my semester abroad was" (students and staff)

We invite all interested students and staff to join us on April 24 at 5 p.m. for the opening of a photo exhibition on the possibilities of studying abroad in the foyer of building 22. Until May 8, the photos of our students who have traveled abroad invite you to look at them and think about your own semester abroad.

12:00 - 12.30 p.m. / The University of Magdeburg in the EU GREEN University Alliance: Mobilities & more - offers for students (students and staff)

We have numerous new partners in our European university alliance EU GREEN. As part of the EU GREEN Day, we will be presenting existing and future offers: Semesters abroad, summer schools, degree programs and courses.
The University of Magdeburg has been part of the EU GREEN alliance since 2023. Together with the eight partner universities from all over Europe, we want to grow together to form a European campus. The alliance's working groups offer numerous opportunities for student involvement in shaping this campus, on topics such as sustainable campuses or diversity and inclusion.
We present what exactly this means, what the next steps are and what opportunities are available.

01:00 – 02:30 p.m. / EU Green partner universities introduce themselves  (students and staff)

Three of our partner universities present their offers for exchange students. Get to know the universities from Angers/France, Gävle/Sweden and the Wroclaw University of Environmental and Life Sciences/Poland!

05:00 – 07:00 p.m. / Let’s build together! - The LEGO® event (for invited students)

There are currently 80 visiting students from other countries at OVGU for an exchange semester. In a joint event with Magdeburg students who will soon be traveling abroad for a semester, they will solve a Lego challenge. Fun, snacks and drinks will be provided.

10:30 - 01.30 p.m. / Fair "Go Abroad - Discover the World" (students and staff)

Fancy going abroad, but still have many questions about requirements, opportunities and funding? The International Office and other provider organisations will give tips, answer questions and advise students and staff on their options for a stay abroad.

Location: Canteen forecourt

05:00 - 07:00 p.m. / Study & Travel (students)

Spice up your studies with a stay abroad? Whether it's an internship or a study semester, in an EU or non-EU country, or even on an excursion during the semester break - there are many opportunities to take a look around your subject during your studies and make new friends all over the world. Over snacks and finger food, students report on their semester abroad. The colleagues of the International Office will give tips for a successful stay abroad. Registration is not necessary.

The Erasmus+ program is open to all OVGU employees: for further education and training or for teaching purposes. The Erasmus Institutional Coordinator, Reena Schliephake, will provide digital information about the possibilities of a training or teaching stay abroad.

12:00 - 12.30 p.m. / Lunchtalk - Going abroad as a trainee  (employees)

Trainees can also do an Erasmus+ internship abroad! The head of the Erasmus Internship Office, Angela Wittkamp, provides trainees with digital information about internship opportunities abroad.
