Inventor, physicist, politician and way ahead of his time: With his innovations and drive, Otto von Guericke already knew what "Rethinking the world together" meant more than 400 years ago.

On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg, which was founded in 1993 from its three former institutions, we would like to celebrate our namesake and cordially invite you to a day about Guericke.

Join us and all interested young and old in the anniversary lecture of the Magdeburger Kid's University, which has been bringing topics from science and research closer to the youngest in a vivid way for 20 years. Registration for the lecture will be possible also via this website from June.

Celebrating Guericke - of course, this is only possible with the historic hemisphere experiment that made Otto von Guericke famous. Together with the city of Magdeburg and the Otto-von-Guericke-Gesellschaft e.V. we present the famous experiment with 16 horses. Experience live the power of the vacuum.

What you can also expect: Hands-on experiments for the whole family, an interactive exhibition about Otto von Guericke, musical highlights and culinary delights.
