My semester abroad was more than just a special time. You are enriched on many levels: independence, new (cultural and professional) horizons, a new world view and, above all, the idea that you can really achieve anything. The preparation process can be very stressful: bureaucracy, looking for accommodation and subletting/terminating your current lease in Magdeburg. Nevertheless, it is definitely worth going through with it and looking forward to the unknown!

Being an international student in Germany, OVGU is already studying abroad for me, but I still chose the Erasmus option to get to know about more cultures, and it was one of the best decisions of my life. I don’t regret a single day spent there.
Harkaran, FINEC, Budapest (Hungary)

I discovered a new passion for surfing, made lifelong friendships, and learned so much—not just academically, but about myself.
Ayse, ORBA, Porto (Portugal)

Kira, IMME, Gävle (Sweden)

I was really impressed by the campus itself. There are lots of green spaces, modern and well-equipped lecture halls, several libraries, some of which are even open around the clock during the semester, and lots of cafés.
Florin, IBE, Nottingham (UK)

It was impressive to see how much life is influenced by the climate. Things like cross-country skiing after lectures or walks at minus 20 degrees were unusual at first, but later became highlights of my stay.
Pia, Medical Systems Engineering, Tampere (Finland)

What can I say, it was the best time of my life so far, an indescribable feeling when I think back on it, and I can only warmly recommend everyone to take this step. Even if you are in a relationship, even if you don't want to leave home, even if you are afraid of not being able to speak a foreign language: do it, you can only grow from it.
Jana, Int. Management, Nice (France)

I made lots of new friends from all over the world and found the Scots - especially the people in Glasgow—to be incredibly friendly and hospitable. You can hardly leave a pub without having had at least three conversations with locals.
