Degree Conferred Master of Science (M.Sc.) Duration 4 Semesters Enrollment Wintersemester Admission restriction Restricted admission Entry requirements B. Sc. or university diploma or comparable degree in electrical engineering/physics or in a closely related degree programme. Proof of English language skills at the "Certificate of Advanced English C" level (equivalent certificates are listed in the study and examination regulations) must be provided. The application must be accompanied by a letter of motivation of no more than 1,000 words stating the reasons and objectives of the choice of study.

Objectives

Students acquire advanced scientific skills and hands-on experience in chemical and physical technologies for the fabrication of miniaturized semiconductor devices. A key element of the study programme is the understanding and independent organization of work flows within a cleanroom environment which will be an essential part of a future job position. The M. Sc. enables an optimum entry into the semiconductor industry.

Career Perspectives

Semiconductor industry offers diverse job areas for example as process engineer, quality manager, project manager or equipment engineer.

Competencies and Interests Required

Mathematical skills on the level of a B. Sc. in electrical engineering or related study programme is prerequisite. Advantageous is enhanced knowledge of chemistry, electronics or quantum mechanics. Interest in experimental and interdisciplinary science is expected.
