The deadlines of expiring grants are extended to the end of the respective current financial year. The deadline for evidence from the previous year is extended to the end of June. A separate application is not necessary in either case. Approved funds from the current year can generally be carried over into the next year.
Doctoral contracts in Research Training Groups can be extended by up to 12 months, and personnel funds that are lacking can be reimbursed for up to three months after the end of the project. Additional costs, for example due to personnel or cancellations, which occur in all current funding that is not tied to the budget year, could be applied for after the end of the project.
According to the statement, the regulations apply with the proviso that the federal and state governments provide the corresponding funds.
