Networking

In an increasingly interdisciplinary and globalized scientific landscape, networking is more crucial than ever—between universities, research projects, industry, disciplines, and people. Therefore, participation in various platforms creates space for cooperation and synergy.

Join us in shaping the future of science—collaborative, open, and connected.

Current partnerships and cooperation possibilities:

2Zero Emission

The 2Zero partnership supports pre-competitive research and innovation in road transport within the European Research Area. It contributes to the implementation of European climate, energy, and transport policies and plays a role in the development of a climate-neutral road transport system.

Aligned with the Green Deal and the Strategy for Sustainable and Smart Mobility, it strengthens the EU’s competitiveness, promotes economic growth, creates jobs, and further develops Europe’s technological leadership.

A.SPIRE Processes4Planet Research Association

A.SPIRE is the European industry association that manages and implements the private side of the co-programmed partnership Processes4Planet. It represents innovative process industries—around 20% of Europe’s manufacturing sector in terms of employment and turnover—as well as over 170 industrial and research partners from more than 20 countries across Europe.

A.SPIRE brings together sectors such as cement, ceramics, chemicals, engineering, minerals and ores, non-ferrous metals, pulp and paper, refineries, steel, and water—many of which are global leaders based in Europe.

A.SPIRE aims to develop key technologies and best practices across all stages of major industrial value chains to enable a resource-efficient process industry.

ERRIN (European Regions Research & Innovation Network)

ERRIN is a well-established Brussels-based network of innovative European regions that advocates for the inclusion of regional and local perspectives in EU research and innovation policies. Through its bottom-up approach, ERRIN promotes the active co-creation of EU programs and policy measures.

The network strengthens European regions in research and innovation, supports the strategic alignment of EU-funded regional projects, and advocates for greater regional involvement in R&I policy at the European level.

A key value of ERRIN focusses on the intensive exchange between regions—to learn from each other and develop joint strategies.

ERRIN currently pursues two network-wide priorities to focus and better coordinate its activities:

  • Enhancing co-creation and supporting member involvement in EU Missions

  • Expanding and deepening participation in research and innovation to promote a more inclusive and balanced innovation ecosystem across Europe

These priorities are deeply embedded in the work of ERRIN’s working groups and task forces and are continuously supported by the Management Board.

EUniverCities

EUniverCities is a European network of medium-sized university cities, founded in 2012 in Ghent, Belgium. The goal is to strategically strengthen cooperation between cities and their universities and to promote the exchange on shared challenges and opportunities.

The Otto-von-Guericke University has been part of the network from the beginning—together with the City Council of Magdeburg and Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences.

Areas of collaboration include:

  • Technology transfer to the local economy

  • Increasing attractiveness for students and researchers

  • Advancing internationalization in both city and university

Today, the network includes members from 14 European countries. The regular exchange of experiences brings new impulses for urban development and reinforces the role of universities as key partners in urban innovation processes.
