iie - Scholar Rescue Fund (iie-SRF)

Since 2002, the Institute of International Education's Scholar Rescue Fund has been supporting scholars from all over the world who are no longer safe in their home countries. So that they can continue their work for science and lead a safe life.

Scope of funding:
  • 9 to 12 months duration, with option to extend by 1 year
  • up to 25,000 US dollars (23085.25 euros) per year
  • The amount of funding depends on the local factors of the host university or research institution
  • Assumption of health insurance contributions
  • Reimbursement of travel expenses up to 7,000 USD (6459.53 Euro)
Eligibility to apply:
  • Researching or teaching at a higher education institution and other research institutions
  • International
  • all disciplines
  • Scientists:inside who can no longer live and work safely in their home country
Deadline:
  • at the end of each quater
