This confirms that you have presented the university with proof of 3G (vaccination, testing, recovery). OVGU members can have the passport issued at central Registration station on campus. The passport will be available on the website pass.ovgu.de, but can also be presented in printed form.

  • First-semester students who do not yet have a student card must prove their affiliation with their matriculation certificate.

I have a vaccination certificate that is not recognised in the EU. Will I still receive the OVGU-Pass?

Yes, at OVGU we recognise the certificate. The prerequisite for this is that you have official proof in English (e.g. yellow WHO passport). If this is not possible, please contact the International Office.

What data is stored?

After the presentation of a proof (e.g. vaccination certificate), the validity or compliance with the 3G regulation is stored in a database. The process serves to standardise the control for gaining access to events at the OVGU. The following personal data is stored: Matriculation or employee number, URZ user name, date of issue or change, name of issuer (also change), expiry date, verification code. The exact 3G status (vaccinated, recovered or tested) is not stored.

Does the OVGU-Pass show whether I have been vaccinated, tested or have recovered?

No, the OVGU-Pass does not receive any visible information on the type of 3G proof of OVGU members.

Can I get tested on campus?

Yes, our test centre in building 5 is still open and offers the possibility of quick tests under supervision. An OVGU-Pass is automatically generated with the negative test result.

Will there be controls during the lectures?

Yes, there will be random checks during the courses. The teaching staff is not obliged to do this, but is also entitled to carry out checks.

What happens if I cannot show an OVGU-Pass when I am checked?

If you cannot show either a valid 3G certificate or the OVGU-Pass, you must immediately leave the course on the corresponding day.

Do I also need the OVGU pass for the university library, sports courses or the Mensa?

The OVGU-Pass will also be required for the university library. The offers of the Studentenwerk Magdeburg (refectories and cafeterias) are currently excluded from this. The sports courses of the sports centre do require an OVGU-Pass or 3G proof.
