Information for Ukrainian students and potential students

Mageburg University would like to support refugee students from our Ukrainian partner universities as much as possible. These include:

Application

To ensure that enquiries are processed as quickly as possible, the desired course of study (subject and degree) should already be stated at the first contact and a curriculum vitae should be submitted with details of school and academic career and language skills (German, English).

Ukrainian students already enrolled in our Ukrainian partner universities have the opportunity to enroll in a degree program at Magdeburg University for the summer semester of 2022 for a maximum of 12 months.

For this purpose, please send us the following documents to :

  • Scan of passport/ID card,
  • Transcript of Records,
  • Language certificate (German B2 or English B2),
  • curriculum vitae

All other students enrolled in Ukrainian universities and those interested in studying at Magdeburg University are kindly asked to contact the Department of Student Affairs at for further information.

On the following pages you will find the application process and instructions for international students who wish to obtain a degree. Prerequisites are a desired course of study from our range of courses, complete documents for university admission as well as language certificates and the financial means.

Application for medical studies

Please note that admission to medical school is a lengthy process. In addition to limited places, a university entrance qualification and an entrance test are required, as well as recognition of your study results from your Ukrainian university. The program is only offered in German and you must have a TestDaF TDN 19 or DSH 3. To apply for the first semester, you must pass the TestAS in German.

Guest auditor

If you would like to attend only some lectures for the time being or if you would like to attend a language course at the university, please apply for guest auditor status. Requirements:

  • Language skills depending on the language of instruction (German/English): min. B2
  • University entrance qualification for Germany

Guest auditors are free of charge for Ukrainian citizens. Please note that you may have to pay for the language course.

 

After your enrollment as an exchange student or after the issuance of a guest student card, we can discuss further steps, such as the continuation of your studies at the University of Magdeburg.

Financing

However, we recommend enrollment only if you have financial resources of 861 euros per month. Upon enrollment, you will be required to pay a semester fee (129.90 euros) and to take out statutory health insurance (approximately 110 euros per month).
