The costs for awarding subcontracts are directly reimbursable costs. Essentially, contract partners must carry out the work themselves. Only smaller activities may be outsourced and must already be specified in the grant agreement (ANNEX I).

The upper limit for subcontracts is €60,000. Amounts in excess of this are possible if they are essential for achieving the project goals, but are subject to special agreements with the European Commission. Indirect costs cannot be charged for subcontracts.

Subcontracts between partners are not permitted.
