Erasmus+ is the European Union's programme for education, youth and sport. Erasmus+ brings together the previous EU programmes for lifelong learning, youth and sport, as well as the European cooperation programmes in higher education.

Between 20217 and 2020, more than 4 million people benefited through the €14.8 billion budget. The 7-year programme was designed to improve skills and employability, as well as to modernise education, training and child and youth welfare systems.

The EU Erasmus+ programme will now continue. For the period 2021 to 2027, the budget is to be increased to 26 billion euros. This will make it possible to support more Europeans. Access to the programme is to be made easier.

The focus of the programme is on closely related topics such as:

  1. Inclusion and diversity
  2. Digitalisation
  3. civic education
  4. sustainability
