Enrolment entitles you to enjoy all of the benefits offered to students in Magdeburg. Enrolment is online via e-mail.

The following documents must usually be provided via e-mail when you enrol:

• Proof of identity (ID card or passport with a valid visa)
• Confirmation of health insurance (health insurance card)
• Proof (receipt) of payment of the semester fee
• Passport photograph (jpg).

The UniCard

During enrolment you will obtain your student identity card (known as the UniCard), which is also your semester ticket and is valid for one semester.

In addition, the UniCard has the following functions:

• Library ID
• WiFi authentication
• Cashless payment in the refectory and for the university copiers
• Use of the washing machines and dryers in the student union halls of residence
• Free-of-charge travel on trams, busses, and regional trains within city limits
