Health Insurance
- Students from EU countries are usually covered under their national health insurance and should bring their EHIC health insurance card with them.
Note: It is worth mentioning that the European health insurance cover is adequate for emergencies and acute illness or accidents, but it will not provide coverage for preventative checkups and medical procedures that are not of an urgent nature. - Students without valid international health insurance need to take out a general health insurance policy from a German insurance company prior to enrolment. If you need advice, the OVGU will assist with information. Please let the health insurer of your choice know our code H0001216 for the electronic data transfer. The insurance company will then transfer the relevant data to OVGU.
- You will be unable to enrol at the university without proof of health insurance valid within the EU.
