Subcontracts are smaller substantive project work that cannot be performed by the partners involved in the project. When awarding them, the respective national procurement law must be observed.

In addition, the following must be observed for subcontracts:

• They must be specified in Annex 1
• Prices may include profit margins
• Indirect costs cannot be charged.
• Subcontracts between project partners are not permitted.
• An amendment must be made for subcontracts added later in the project.
