Summer School "American Language and Culture," University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point (2.-26./27. August 2020)
OVGU's annual excursion to the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point (UWSP), USA, is open to students from all faculties who are interested in American history and culture and who want to improve their English skills during the communication and language course of the programme. B2 (A-level) skills in English are mandatory. The classes focus on oral communication skills and students can expect to gain most in this area. Furthermore, the summer school offers a variety of excursions to American factories, sporting events, nature trails and gives you the chance to participate in a traditional American talent show among other things. Participants will sleep in campus dorms for the first few days and then move in with a host family for the remaining time. Before flying back to Germany, three night in Chicago complete the experience.
This programme will probably be offered again in 2022.
For further insight into the programme, you can check out selected reports from participants of the summer school in 2019.
