An additional opportunity is for employees to take part in a training programme recognised as such by the Lifelong Learning Leave Law.
The programme must be recognised by the federal state administration. Programmes qualify for recognition, if their content serves a specific professional training purpose.
Employees have the right to claim five days leave per calendar year. It is possible to combine the leave from two successive years. Leave not taken in the previous year may be taken in the current calendar year.
If leave is granted for a recognised lifelong learning programme, the employee will continue to receive pay. The cost of the programme and possible accommodation and further expenses are to be met by the participant.
