To date around two and a half million students and almost 250,000 lecturers have undertaken a foreign placement under this programme.

The 28 countries of the EU, plus Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Turkey take part in the ERASMUS programme.

ERASMUS at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg

OVGU's ERASMUS university coordinator is Ms. Reena Schliephake. Together with the International Office team, she organises and coordinates all of the university's ERASMUS activities (lecturer, employee and student mobility).

OVGU has been involved in the programme since 1991 and in 2003 first received the ERASMUS university charter (German only  Deutsche Flagge). It contains important principles relating to ERASMUS activities. Only those universities that possess this university charter may be funded under the ERASMUS programme. At present OVGU cooperates with 129 Erasmus partners from 28 countries in the areas of student and lecturer mobility as well as curriculum development.

An overview of the obligations that arise for us from the ERASMUS university charter (German only  Deutsche Flagge) can be found here.

ISAP

International Study and Training Partnerships (ISAP)

The DAAD finances programmes for the internationalisation of German universities from Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) funds. By funding international study and training partnerships (ISAP), it is intended that lasting cooperation agreements will be developed between foreign and German universities. In the ISAP programme, groups of highly-qualified German and foreign students are helped to complete a fully recognised part of their studies at the respective partner university.
