As soon as we receive your "N5-Form", we arrange accomodation for you. So if you cancel the training, you will be held responsible for any financial losses.

• Find out if you need a visa
• Try to get a visa for the European Union (Schengen) if you want to travel around in Europe
• Your Passport

• Bring enough money for the first month (about 350,- EUR) deposit for your room, food
• Most banks accept eurocheques and traveller cheques. Credit cards are not widely accepted for example in restaurants and supermarkets; however, you can get money from every ATM with them.
• You get your first salary after one month of work.

You will receive your first scholarship approx. two weeks after arrival so make sure you have enough money (~ 350 Euro) for train and tram tickets, the deposit for the accomodation and pocket money. You will get your scholarship in cash form once a month at the cashiers office ("Kasse") of the University of Magdeburg:

Please note: It is absolutely neccessary to have your passport with you to get your scholarship!

• Sleeping-bag (when you want to travel)
• International student card
• A traditional cooking recipe from your home
• Clothes suitable for either summer (15-30°C) or winter temperatures (less than 0°C)

Usually, we arrange a pick-up-service from the train station "Magdeburg Hauptbahnhof". Please call the following pick-up-number: +49 157 88477511.

At the train station "Magdeburg Hauptbahnhof" please call one of the numbers given in Contacts or the number from your "Welcome mail".

Please note: We can only offer an accommodation from the 1st day of your internship. In case of an earlier arrival please handle your respective accommodation by yourself.

We will try to accommodate you preferably close to our university. Please understand that this might not always be possible, especially in summer when a lot of trainees will be guests of our university.
Usually we arrange a room in a student dormitory for you. If this is not possible we will try to arrange:

• A room for you in the guesthouse of our University
• Furnished apartmentes: in apartments located in the north of Magdeburg (Dr.-Grosz-Str. 3/4), which you can reach by tram (no. 8 and no. 9, tram station "Neustädter Platz") within 15 minutes. All of the rooms are furnished. Kitchen and Bathroom will be shared. In case you have a room in the "Dr.-Grosz-Str. 3/4".
• Dormitory Campus Tower: all rooms are ready-furnished. At the end of your placement you have to show him your room. You will need his signature on a check out protocol to get your security deposit back. At the beginning of your placement/internship you have to pay cash a security deposit of 200,- EUR.

In case you will not have enough dishes of your own we are able to offer you a "survival package".
The payment of rent will be managed by us. The monthly rent will be deducted automatically from your scholarship.

Please note: You always have to pay for a full month.
