The International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience (IAESTE A.s.b.l) is an Association of National Committees representing Academic, Industrial and Student interests. Each Member and Co-operating Institution is responsible for the administration of the exchange in its own country.
IAESTE was founded in 1948 in London and has been around the world over 300000 students in more than 85 countries. Since 1950 Germany is a member of the IAESTE program and is supported by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
In each member country has a National Committee (NC) and many Local Committee (LC) at universities. In Germany, the National Committee is represented by the DAAD (the German Academic Exchange Service). IAESTE is supported by the Federal Ministry of Education and Science and the Foreign Office. Locally, the local committee of dedicated students of the universities are formed. Where this is not possible, the International office perceive the duties of IAESTE.
Support for international students on site. This includes for example Room search, government programs and recreational program.
