Academic requirements

Eligibility for University Admission

Eligibility for study admission is generally based on:

Master Study Programs

For admission in the Master's study program, a University degree in a relevant field of study is mandatory (e.g. Diploma or Bachelor).

Entrance Examination for the Study Program Sport

For the study programs Sports Science, Sports and Technology and for the Secondary Physical Education programs in Vocational Education, Teaching at Vocational Schools and Teaching at Secondary Schools, a mandatory participation in the entrance examination is required.

Internship

At the University of Magdeburg, in almost all study programs, internships are offered as part of the course program. The internships will be managed by responsible person in the respective study program. Information can be obtained from the Examination and Internship Offices as well as the Student Advisor of the relevant faculties.

Language Proficiency

For study programs where the command of instruction is English and for study program such as European Studies, Cultural Studies (Program: Anglophone Cultural Studies), and Teacher Training for Vocational Schools (Second Subject English), a proof of language skills is required.

European Studies

In addition to the application forms, a tabular CV in English language and "letter of motivation", where the applicant explains about him/herself and reasons out his/her motivation to the study program, should be submitted. Essay and CV together should not exceed more than three A4 pages.

Cultural Studies, Knowledge Management, Logistics; Cultural Engineering

Media Education: Visual Culture and Communication

 

The applicant should submit a media product along the application documents stating his/her specific eligibility and motivation for the study program. The basis for selection, in addition to High school final grades, are the content, design, and technical implementation of the media product sent.

Approval Process for "Safety and Hazard Defence" (Bachelor)

The study program "Safety and Hazard Defence" (Bachelor) is a joint program of the University of Magdeburg and the University of Stendal. In addition to school graduate certificate (general or technical), for this field of study, participation in an approval process is required.
Applications for the approval process are sent directly to the University of Magdeburg-Stendal until 30 April.
Following on time applications, the appropriate time and place of examination will be communicated in time. The document of school graduation certificate should be submitted.
