Progress of NaWiTec

Beginning

  • March 2007: first project outlines submission to BMBF about the internal structure of a young researcher group
  • September 2007: successful evaluation of outlines and request for the entire project arrangement for duration of 5 years
  • December 2007: grand approval by the BMBF

Highlights

  • March 2008: NaWiTec start of work with 7 staff members
  • June 2009: Completion of investments in technical equipment
  • Feburary 2009: Reconstruction of a new laboratory for NaWiTec funded by the University
  • March 2009: Startup of X-ray tomograph
  • July 2009: Startup of NaWiTec test facility
  • August 2009: Extension of working group with 3 additional scientific assistants within the WIGRATEC project
  • November 2009: Accumulation of capital for NaWiTec for a biomass test faciltiy in the area of energy production
  • June 2010: Extension of working group with 2 additional scientific assistants within the DFG-Graduiertenkolleg 1554 and within a ZIM project
  • October 2012: Application for continuation in the context of InnoProfile-Transfer
  • January 2013: Successful evaluation of the project application
  • April 2013: Start of work
  • November 2013: Start of the projects WIGRATEC+ and NaWiTec Energie
  • current status of NaWiTec and WIGRATEC+: 15 staff members (1 leader, 13 scientific assistants, 1 secretary)
