Research Topics

Focus of the research is on numerical and experimental investigation of drying of porous media under isothermal and non-isothermal conditions applying pore network models. Simulations are with 2- and 3- dimensional pore network models. Experimental validation of the numerical models is based on experiments with microfluidic devices. More details about this topic can be found here.
Current research topics are the freeze drying of porous products from the food industry and pharmacy, microwave drying or clay (bricks) as well as modeling of the mass transfer through the porous transport layer during electrolysis of water.
