The internationalization of study and research operations is one of the Otto-von-Guericke University's highest goals.

Integrated in a wide net of international relationships and research collaboration, the University has traditionally viewed itself as a bridge between East and West.

The University's international connections and partnerships shall improve intensive cooperation in research and teaching and training, impart intercultural skills and encourage the transfer of scholarly expertise in technologically developing countries through the exchange of students and scholars.

At 10% of the entire student body, the number of international students (from over 88 countries) is in national average. In addition the University hosts 600 foreign scholars annually. 

 Bilateral cooperation agreements and  agreements under the framework of ERASMUS with 95 European and 85 non-European universities and other institutions of higher learning offer our students and scholars excellent prospects for study and research.
