Computer Science

Brief profile

The Faculty of Computer Science offers a higher than average proportion of practical and application-oriented core areas in research and teaching. As an engineering faculty, it encompasses all of the key areas of computer science. These include Computational Visualistics, Business Informatics and Computer Systems in Engineering. Computer scientists are concerned with the systematic processing of information; in this connection computers are a tool and vehicle for putting theoretical concepts into practice. As a key technology of the 21st century, in terms of both research and teaching Computer Science is of great importance for all scientific disciplines.

The research profile of the Faculty is characterised by the three key areas of image, knowledge and interaction. Many current research projects are being worked on across faculties and also belong to the key research areas of the University.
