Prof. Dr. Peter Hauptmann wurde Professor für Mess-und Sensorsysteme an der Universität Magdeburg seit 1993. He has extensive experience in ultrasonic sensors and ultrasonic systems, resonant chemical and mechanical sensors, sensor modelling, microsensors, new sensor materials, sensor interface electronics, industrial sensor application and is author or co-author of 5 books, 278 papers and several successful technology-transfer projects. Er verfügt über umfangreiche Erfahrung in der Ultraschall-Sensoren und Ultraschall-Systeme, resonante chemische und mechanische Sensoren, Sensor-Modellierung, Mikrosensoren, neue Materialien, Sensorik, Sensor-Interface-Elektronik, Industrie-Sensor-Anwendung und ist Autor oder Co-Autor von 5 Büchern, 278 Vorträge und mehrere erfolgreiche Technologie Transfer-Projekte. Prof. Hauptmann holds 18 patents. Prof. Hauptmann hält 18 Patente. His book "Sensors - Principles and Applications" was published in German in 1991, the English translation in 1993. He acts as a vice director of the "Institute of Automation and Communication" and as a consultant to industrial and governmental organisations in Germany and abroad. Sein Buch "Sensoren - Prinzipien und Anwendungen" wurde im Jahr 1991 in deutscher Sprache, die deutsche Übersetzung im Jahr 1993. Er fungiert als stellvertretender Direktor des "Instituts für Automation und Kommunikation" und als Berater für die Industrie-und Regierungs-Organisationen in Deutschland und im Ausland . Prior to becoming involved with sensors in 1985, he spent several years in nuclear physics, polymer physics, measurement and process technology and electronics. Previously he was with the Technical Institute Leuna-Merseburg (1968-85), the University of Leningrad (1977-78) and the Technical University of Magdeburg (1985-1993).
